Tin Mountain Naturalist Carol Foord, as Molly Ockett, the Pequawket Doctress, visited the Gibson Center. She shared stories about living in New England during the French and Indian Wars; about working as a servant in Plymouth; how she learned about plants, and used them to cure people; and about her family. The presentation was moving.

Alice Clapp was the hostess for our Independence Day Ballroom Dance. Many people wore red, white, and blue for the occasion. We danced to traditional ballroom music, learned a few line dances, thanks to special guest, Maureen, and even ended the evening with a Stars and Stripes Forever Dance, that we invented as we danced it.

The Gibson Bus picked people up at their homes and traveled to the Old Orchard Beach Pavilion for a concert by the West Point Military Band. We had a delicious box lunch, packed by the kitchen. The music was real toe tapping, and everyone was surprised at how quickly the evening passed. We also had some time to expore Old Orchard Beach and walk the Pier.

The Gibson Center joined forces with people from Vermont, and traveled to Montreal and Quebec. We toured Notre Dame Bascilica, the city of Montreal, Historic Quebec City, Saint Anne de Beaupre Shrine, Montmorency Falls, The Casino de Montreal, Olympic Park, including the tower and Bio Dome, and the Underground City. The countryside was beautiful, and the food plentiful.
